Galveston Weather and Weather Report





Galveston weather is humid and subtropical. That means the summers are hot and humid and winters are cool. Significant amount of rainfall occur throughout all seasons.

Summer temperatures regularly exceed 90 °F (32 °C) and the area's humidity drives the heat index even higher. June, July, August and September are the hottest months of the year.

Tourism usually picks up from April when the weather is wonderful. Travel to Galveston around this time can be very exciting.There may be occasional thunder storms from May through September.

Hurricane Season runs from June through November. Hurricanes are very unpredictable. It may take years for one to come near. Galveston's coldest month is January when the average temperature overnight is 49.7°F.

The weather is still nice from October through March. It does not really get too cold so we can still have fun on the island. We do visit Galveston in winter time quite a bit.

Some times the weather is above 50 degrees and the beaches are less crowded.

The weather is good enough to visit the Christmas light on display at the Moody Gardens in December.

For those who want to avoid the summer crowd and the traffic at the Galveston beach, the best time will be when summer vacation is over. The water will still be warm for swimming and tourist spots and hotels will be less congested.
